Who can participate?

The project is designed primarily for primary schools and teachers interested in improving writing outcomes. However, we also work with secondary schools through bespoke training and consultancy, particularly around KS2 to KS3 transition, curriculum continuity, assessment and ensuring pupils are prepared for the demands of writing at Key Stage 3. Schools and trusts can work with us at an individual, departmental or whole-school level.

Do I need to be part of the original project?

No. Many CPD opportunities are open to schools beyond the original project cohort.

Are resources available to non-network schools?

Some resources are openly available, while others are available through CPD participation or network membership.

Can the project support my school directly?

Yes. Bespoke moderation, school visits and tailored professional development opportunities are available.

What areas of writing does the project support?

The project supports schools with writing curriculum design, assessment, moderation, leadership of writing, teaching approaches, writing across the curriculum, and improving outcomes for all pupils. 

What professional development opportunities are available?

We offer conferences, workshops, moderation opportunities, leadership development, bespoke training and tailored school support. 

Can you support English leaders?

Yes. We provide support for English leaders in areas such as monitoring, curriculum development, action planning, assessment, moderation and leading effective professional development. 

Do you offer assessment and moderation support?

Yes. We can provide training and support on the use of Teacher Assessment Frameworks (TAFs), in-school moderation, inter-school moderation and developing confidence in making assessment judgements. 

Do you support schools with writing across the curriculum?

Yes. We help schools identify meaningful writing opportunities across the wider curriculum and develop pupils' understanding of audience and purpose through disciplinary writing. 

Can you support KS2 to KS3 transition?

Yes. We work with both primary and secondary schools to strengthen curriculum continuity and support pupils as they move between phases.
