Instrumental/vocal lesson charges
From September 2025, our charges for music lessons will be as follows:
Looked After Children (all instruments) | Nil | (100% discount for the most vulnerable) |
Pupil Premium pupils (all instruments) | £30/term | (80% discount to combat disadvantage) |
Brass, Strings, Woodwind | £75/term | (50% discount to promote uptake) |
Drums, Guitar, organ, Piano, Singing | £150/term |
- Additional financial support is available for those who are eligible, i.e Pupil Premium (check with your school music leader). We believe that no pupil should be excluded through lack of financial means.
- Payment is required before music lessons can begin.
- The cost stays the same, regardless of how many weeks there are in a half-term.
- A minimum of 30 lessons will be offered during an academic year (or a pro-rata equivalent for those starting mid-year).
Payment Method
- Invoices will be issued via the My Child at School app in advance.
Changes in tuition charges
- The right is reserved to change the cost of music lessons.
- Half a term’s notice (or equivalent thereof) will be given of any changes in fees.
- Priority will be given to pupils already receiving music lessons, then lessons will be arranged on a first come, first served basis.
Attendance at music lessons
- Timetables will be displayed in the music department and it will be the responsibility of the pupil to ensure this is checked weekly.
- It is the pupil’s responsibility to arrive at their scheduled music lesson on time, and with the correct equipment.
- Communication will be made with a parent/carer if a pupil misses two consecutive music lessons.
- Pupils who miss six music lessons without genuine reason will be removed from the scheme. Any fees invoiced up to that point will remain payable.
- Pupils are to give a week’s notice of planned absence at music lessons.
- Lessons missed through unplanned absence, such as illness, will not be rescheduled, and count towards the number of offered lessons per year.
- Lessons missed by the teacher will be rescheduled as necessary to meet the minimum number of lessons per year which are to be offered.
Cancelling music tuition
- To cancel music lessons, half a term’s notice is required, in writing. The request should be sent via email to music@inspirationtrust.org.
- Fees will remain payable until the end of the notice period.
- At the end of each term, it is presumed that pupils currently having lessons will continue with them in the next term, unless it is known that the pupil will be leaving the school.
- This agreement will remain in place until there is an update to this agreement, or it is cancelled by either party in line with notice period requirements.
Involve
- Pupils will be added to our online music lessons management software Involve (formerly known as Practice Pal) upon starting lessons.
- The Involve app is completely free for families, and provides lesson reminders, notes from our music teachers on your child’s progress, and even photos and videos from lessons.
- Parents and carers will receive an invitation email from Involve asking them to set up a Parent Account upon starting lessons.
