Teaching School Hub gains National Recognition of Excellence

New and existing teachers in the region will continue to benefit from top-class training as the Department for Education (DfE) confirms it’s to award Inspiration Teaching School Hub another four years of funding. 

This comes as the DfE confirms it’s re-awarding us hub status. Alongside Inspiration Trust's designation as an Associate College of the National Institute of Teaching and the fantastic work of the Angles Maths Hub, this confirms us as ‘a centre of excellence’ for teacher development. 

Inspiration Teaching School Hub delivers both the Early Careers Framework (ECF) and the full suite of National Professional Qualifications (NPQs). These crucial programmes follow from Initial Teacher Training (ITT), for which the hub has a crucial strategic role in engaging schools in Breckland, South Norfolk, Waveney and Great Yarmouth.  

Our programmes not only support the work of recruiting top teaching talent but also in retaining teachers, by providing continuous professional development opportunities as clear paths to progression.  

These three frameworks make up the 'Golden Thread' of teacher development, crucial to growing excellent teachers and leaders in our region, an essential part of ensuring local pupils get the very best education. 

In the past year, the Hub has also assumed the role of an Appropriate Body, a service which ensures that Early Careers Teachers (ECTs) get the level of support required in schools and that schools themselves get the advice needed to offer their ECTs an excellent grounding in the profession. 

The Director of Inspiration Teaching School Hub, Paul Usher, said:

"We are thrilled to have been redesignated as one of 87 national hubs for the next four years. It is testament to the quality and excellence of the courses we offer, and more widely to the commitment from schools across our hub area to engage in teacher development.

 

"The re-designation is only the start — we will continue to provide outstanding support for schools and teachers in our region and maintain a national voice to help solve the challenges that our schools and staff face.

 

We have, and always will, see ourselves as an outward-facing organisation, wanting to meet the needs of the schools and communities we serve. Ultimately, we want the best outcomes and life chances for pupils in our schools, regardless of their background. Without great teachers and leaders, there are no great schools. We want schools in our hub area to continue to reach out to us and see how we can best help them grow."
