Due to the impact of Covid-19, all of our recruitment has currently moved online.
If your application is shortlisted you will be invited to a selection day which will be held in one of our partnership schools. You will spend the day with mentors and with students, taking part in tasks including delivering a presentation, observing and analysing a lesson, and completing an interview. We will provide you with information on what tasks you will be asked to complete and guidance on what we are looking for in each prior to your selection day.
The day will give you an insight into what it will be like to work in one of our schools, along with the opportunity to ask questions and meet members of our teaching team. We aim to provide you with a decision within one week of your selection day and offer feedback on your performance. You will be notified initially through UCAS and if you are successful with a follow-up email outlining any conditions that we have set and the next steps.
Subject knowledge enhancement
Occasionally, it may be set as a condition of your offer that you will need to complete a subject knowledge enhancement course (SKE) prior to starting your training with us. This is quite common if your degree is not in the subject you would like to teach and we feel you need to increase your subject knowledge. This could be a specific course or module that you are asked to complete, or a series of tasks and activities put together by our expert course leads.
Any offer made is conditional upon all safeguarding checks being completed. This includes suitability for working with children, identity checking and clearance, and all other DBS checks being carried out.
