Alison Hughes

Alison Hughes joined Inspiration Trust in May 2021 as Primary Director having had an extensive and successful career in Primary Leadership working in many contrasting contexts in the East of England. With over 25 years of Primary Headship and as a Primary Advisor in Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk, Alison joined from West Norfolk where she was a founding Director taking a lead for school improvement of a Primary and all through Special School Trust. 

As one of the first Headteachers managing more than one school, Alison was instrumental in the initial formation of Federations, being invited to speak for the DFE and support the early development of multi school working across the country.

Communities within and between schools has been a feature of her work including setting up a Teacher Training Hub and leading local clusters with a focus on teacher and leadership development.

A belief in the power of collaboration and networking, building on strengths in every school helping them to excel and provide exceptional learning for our children and young peoples development.

A powerful curriculum and effective assessment are key to ensuring children have the best chances in life, with the personal development of every child at the centre.
