Securing a ECT role
As a trainee with Inspiration Teacher Training, you will be supported to secure an ECT (Early Career Teacher) position. This year, we are very pleased to be able to say that over 80% of our trainees secured ECT posts in schools. We absolutely believe it is our mission to support you as you enter the profession and we are striving to increase this figure.
Throughout the year, we provide high quality sessions led by experienced classroom practitioners and leaders in schools designed to support you in securing employment. In many instances, these will be roles within our Trust’s family of schools. But, whether you choose to remain within the Trust or look for roles outside - perhaps closer to home - you can count on our support.
Transition from ITT - ECT
We recognise that the transition from initial teacher training to your first year as a newly qualified teacher can be daunting. Facing a heavier teaching timetable, possibly in a new school environment, is a challenge. As classroom practitioners ourselves, we know this and have experience of supporting early career teachers. We are therefore able to use this experience and expertise to really tailor our support as you approach the end of your ITT year. We’ll guide you to identify specific ECT targets to focus on and receive 1-1 support to ensure that you understand how to make progress towards those targets. We check in with all our trainees in the first term of their ECT year too! Over 95% of our cohort this year commented that they were ‘...supported at the end of [their] ITT year to identify [their] ECT targets’ - and that’s something we’re really proud of!
Continuing professional development
From September 2021, all Early Career Teachers (ECTs) will have access to Early Career Framework (ECF) sessions delivered by high quality education partners working with the Department for Education. This is a national initiative which guarantees a minimum entitlement for continuing professional development to teachers in the first few years of their career. In addition to this, if you remain within the Trust, you will benefit from access to the highest quality subject specific provision as a qualified teacher - something that Inspiration Trust really prides itself on.
