Teaching and learning
Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form is a specialist science and maths sixth form and so prides itself on delivering the highest-quality teaching and learning in both fields.
Our staff are all fully qualified teachers and experts in their subjects. Our innovative, evidence-based approaches help all students achieve their potential and ensure that all students thoroughly enjoy learning with us.
Our curriculum includes vast amounts of practical work in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, and computing.
Students are encouraged to read around their subject, supported by regular seminars and lectures from industry experts and academics.
Our learning spaces have been designed with effective pedagogy in mind. Our labs enable students to become familiar with specialist scientific equipment and procedures in preparation for higher education.
Devices in school
Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form’s goal is to become a paper-free environment. Although not compulsory, an internet-enabled device such as a laptop or iPad would support your learning. A number of these are available to borrow from the school reception.
All the documents you require for your studies are posted online for you to use at home. All homework will be set from the Google drive (linked to your email account) or our Google site. The websites to use are:
