Student wellbeing

The wellbeing of our students is of the utmost importance to us and we offer a wide range of pastoral support to students who may be suffering from stress, anxiety, or other issues, working closely with external agencies when needed.

Who can I speak to?

  • Your form tutor
  • Student welfare manager - Miss Gillespie
  • Safeguarding manager - Miss Harvey
  • SENDCo - Mrs MacDonald-Brown

Any of your teachers will also be able to help.

Other support    

We work with many other agencies who can offer support, including:

  • One Church counselling
  • School nurse
  • MAP
  • Side by side counselling and the Benjamin Foundation
  • Point 1 referrals
  • Aspergers support from CALM

Exam stress

We offer the following support for students who suffer with exam stress:

  • Appropriate exam access arrangements in accordance with JCQ regulations
  • Full leadership team on hand throughout exams
  • Place to relax after exams which is quiet and calm

 

Revision timetables:

  • 20 - 30 minutes bursts in a subject area
  • Do not rewrite notes
  • Practice questions
  • Test yourself
  • Plan in time for relaxing

Anxiety and stress in school

  • Talk to someone - parents, teachers, or friends
  • Tell the school
  • We will meet to put together a plan of support
