Parent member elections
Two vacancies exist for parent members on the Jane Austen College advisory body. This group, comprising governors, staff, parents, and community representatives, will meet termly to advise the local governing body on issues concerning pupil welfare, attendance, behaviour, home/school liaison, community relations etc. It will fulfil a valuable role and it is important that parents are properly represented so that their voice is heard by the local governing body.
Parent members to this advisory body are elected by other parents or guardians of children attending Jane Austen College. All such parents or guardians are entitled to propose or second candidates and vote. The deadline for nominations was October 18, 2017.
If there are only two nominations or fewer for these vacancies then there will be no need to hold a ballot. If a ballot is necessary, it will be by a secure electronic system through which parents will be invited to vote. Voting will commence on Monday, October 30 2017 and will close on Monday, November 6 2017.
Remember, decisions taken by the local governing body affect your child's education. To make sure you have a voice in these decisions it is important that you make every effort to participate in this process. If you have any queries regarding this election, please contact us.
