John Hurt: a tribute

As you may know earlier this year, on January 20, the world-renowned actor John Hurt sadly passed away.

His death was caused by pancreatic cancer which is a disease that is fatal in many cases. A less well-known fact about the famous actor is that he was local to Norfolk. John Hurt lived in Cromer for a short time and Norfolk was also where he died.

The actor has starred in films such as 1984, V for Vendetta and the classic film The Elephant Man.

In conclusion Hurt’s death shocked the nation because he was a highly regarded actor and always gave incredibly moving performances. He was also a pillar of the local community which made the news of his death even more poignant to us here at Cromer Academy, some of us having met him and having personal connections with the gentle and warm legend.
