Extended Project Qualification

Course outline

Taken alongside your three main subjects, the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) is  a great opportunity to experience university-style study, and expand your knowledge in an area of interest.

It shows employers and universities what your personal passion and interests are, and shows that you can self-manage, self-direct, and set ambitious goals for yourself.

The EPQ is a compulsory part of the TechBacc, along with either A Level maths or core maths.

Course content

The EPQ:

  • Trains you in the skills and knowledge required for the independent study of university.
  • Enables you to focus on a specific area that either extends your knowledge in your academic or applied courses, or exploring a totally new area of knowledge related to future study opportunities.
  • Requires you to demonstrate the ability to plan, select resources, manage your own time, and analyse and evaluate information you have researched yourself.

Entry requirements
