Arts and culture

We believe it is important for children to achieve well academically, but that does not mean ignoring wider experiences - quite the opposite!

All children learn to read from a music score, sing as a group, and have the opportunity to learn an orchestral instrument. Children in Years 2 to 4 learn using tuned percussion instruments and Year 5 children have the opportunity to learn the recorder. We believe that this helps develop discipline and determination, as well as independence and team work skills when playing solo or as part of a group.

Pupils have the opportunity to perform, including at our annual Inspiration Trust Christmas celebration at Norwich Cathedral.

We also encourage our pupils to broaden their horizons through school trips, listening to visiting speakers, and taking part in exciting activities to get the children involved and enthusiastic about the topics they are learning about.
