Muddy brilliant effort raises £1,000 for charity

Fearless staff at Hethersett Academy battled the elements on a gruelling six-mile obstacle course to raise over a thousand pounds for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Head of geography Matthew Bignell, cover supervisor Jason Crane, English teacher Emma Kirby, student support assistant Susan McCormick, and principal’s PA Fiona Hamilton faced obstacles including the muddy trench crawl, scramble wall, and web of despair as they took on the Only The Brave challenge at Thetford Forest on Sunday, April 7.

Students held a non-uniform day on the last day of term to support the team’s fundraising efforts, bringing the grand total to over £1,000.

The East Anglian Air Ambulance provides critical care to patients who have suffered life-threatening incidents or medical emergencies across the region.
