Hethersett cellist plucked for top music school

A talented cello player from Hethersett Academy has won a sixth form place at a world-renowned music school.

Amanda Gomez will head to Manchester to study at Chetham’s School of Music, the biggest specialist music school in the UK.

Amanda has been playing cello since the age of seven, and currently plays in the Norfolk County Youth Orchestra and The Orchestrate! Project.

She hopes to pursue a career in music or medicine.

Hethersett Academy head of creative arts Thomas Hilton said: “We are delighted to celebrate Amanda's success and wish her the very best for her future studies and promising musical career.”
