Taste of rural life

Published on 02/07/18

Norwich Primary pupils got a taste of rural life in days gone by with a trip out to a unique Norfolk museum last month.

Year 4 children spent the day at the Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse museum near Dereham, to experience what life was like for children in the workhouse.

Teacher Angela Neal said:  "Most of the children chose to dress up in Victorian costumes.

"There was a sense of mystery throughout the day as the children had to try and solve the mystery of Mrs Clackett's missing candlesticks.

"All of the staff and children enjoyed their Victorian experience but were very thankful that they didn't have to stay at the workhouse and pick the stones from the field for another five hours!"
