TV dancer gives Flawless workshops

Published on 09/03/16

A dancer made famous by television's Britain's Got Talent has given Norwich students a dance masterclass.

Street dancer Leroy "FX" Dos Santos, who appeared on the TV show as a member of the Flawless dance troupe, led Jane Austen College students in dance practice and also talked to pupils during special assemblies, emphasising the importance of practice and dedication.

Leroy impressed students both with his positive message and his acrobatic dance, performing backflips and jumps in the school's iconic Atrium hall.

Morgan said: "When I was looking at him dance, I found out about moves I once couldn't do."

Lilli said she had taken a positive message from the workshop and audience: "Even if you aren't the best at something, keep trying and you will succeed."

"And never be afraid to try new things," added Ebony.

Executive principal Claire Heald said: "Leroy was really positive about the workshops as a whole and about our students, and really enjoyed the day.

"We have decided to make two students ambassadors of dance in Year 7 from the event, as their attitude to learning and enthusiasm was fantastic!"

Flawless reached the final of the TV talent show in 2009, appearing alongside singer Susan Boyle and eventual winners and rival dance group Diversity.
