Reception class have a roar-some time with prehistoric pet

Children at Cobholm Primary Academy helped to look after a rather unusual class pet as they learned all about dinosaurs.
The Reception class were excited to find a mystery egg in their classroom one morning, and wrote signs to keep the egg safe.
When the egg ‘hatched’ it turned out to contain a stegosaurus, which they named Simon.
The children used non-fiction books to find out all about the herbivorous species, which roamed the Earth 150 million years ago.
They continued their learning with dino-themed maths activities, and built a model dinosaur island for Simon to call home.
