Maths café visit takes the cake

Children from Charles Darwin Primary had a real-life maths lesson with tasty additions as they visited a nearby cafe.
The Reception children, who have been learning about money, were each given a £1 coin to take to The Departure Lounge café, next door to the school.
They bought muffins for 55p each and had to hand over their coin, count the change, and collect their receipt.
As an added bonus they were able to tuck into the tasty treats before heading back to the classroom.
Teacher Louise Burt said: “They all behaved beautifully and had perfect manners in the café.”
