Members of Great Yarmouth’s emergency services have thanked pupils at Great Yarmouth Primary Academy for their kind-hearted gifts of Christmas cards and goodies.
Year 3 pupils put together festive parcels of mince pies, cards, and letters for staff working over the Christmas period at the town's fire stations and James Paget Hospital's busy emergency and maternity departments.
Elle Foster thanked the children on behalf of the fire service, saying: “We wanted to let you know how much the Yarmouth crews appreciated the letters and cards. They are beautiful and so thoughtful.
“They wanted the children to know that they had a lovely Christmas and although they did have to go out to some fires, they also got to have a nice Christmas dinner with their team, and enjoyed a second Christmas dinner with their families on Boxing Day.”
Steven Osborne, who works in the emergency department at James Paget, told pupils: “I would like to say how grateful we are that you’re thinking of us over the festive season.
“Christmas is all about making others feel better about themselves and showing love and compassion to those who aren’t as fortunate, and you have shown that immensely by your kind gesture.”
