Inspiration Trust rated third best multi-academy trust in the country for sixth form progress

Inspiration Trust has been rated the third best multi-academy trust in the country for sixth form students’ progress. The trust came joint third in the Department for Education’s league table that compares 58 trusts across England. It received a progress score of 0.11 for key stage 5.
These results mean that the progress young people made at the Inspiration Trust’s sixth forms was some of the best in the country.
A progress score is the way the Department for Education measures whether students are making more, less or expected progress at their schools. It measures the progress students make between their GCSEs and A-levels.
The trust’s sixth forms include:
- Jane Austen College, Norwich
- Thetford Academy Sixth Form, Thetford
- Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form, Norwich
- Hewett Academy Sixth Form, Norwich
Rachel de Souza, Chief Executive of the Inspiration Trust said: “When we started our trust in 2012 we said that we wanted to improve education for all of the young people in East Anglia – and we are proud that there is significant progress being made.
“Many of our students go on to study at top universities – last year eight of our students were offered places at Oxford and Cambridge.
“It’s important that we celebrate the hard work of students, dedication of our teaching teams and ongoing support from our families. This is the winning combination that helps our progress scores beat some of the bigger London trusts and sees our secondary results challenging independent schools.”
