Careers Week is just the job

Published on 12/07/19

East Point students explored the world of further education and work in a week dedicated to careers advice and guidance.

As part of the school's Year 10 Careers Week the Year 10 students explored subjects on offer at the University of Suffolk, East Norfolk Sixth Form College in Gorleston, and Lowestoft Sixth Form College.

They took part in hands-on lectures on paramedic science and sports studies, toured the campuses, and spoke to former pupils.

Members of the Future First alumni network including a drama teacher, communications manager, and professional horse rider gave employability workshops to small groups of students, sharing their experiences at school, college, and university and their career paths.

Careers Week prepares students to think about their choices and futures in readiness for Year 11, ensuring they work hard and can aspire to follow their dreams.

East Point careers manager Mrs Dando said: "I was very impressed with the students, who were eager to take part in all the activities."
