Pupils and staff from across Cromer Academy’s history shared fond memories of their school days at a special event marking the school’s 70th anniversary.

Mr Little and Mr King

The academy – previously known as Cromer High School and Cromer Secondary Modern School – celebrated seven decades of educating the town’s young people with an open day on Saturday, July 6.

Former headteacher Mr King, who led the school from 1979 to 1995, joined current headteacher Antony Little and over 250 students and teachers past and present for the event.

Guests enjoyed celebratory cream teas, revisited their old classrooms, and viewed an exhibition of school photos, uniforms, and memorabilia through the ages.

Mr Little said: “I’m delighted that so many former pupils, staff, and governors could come and join us to celebrate our anniversary.

“It was a real pleasure to talk about headship with my predecessor Mr King, and meet pupils from our current Year 11s to some of the class of 1949!”
