Enrichment

Cromer Academy's enrichment programme aims to provide students with an opportunity to extend their knowledge, skills and interests, whilst offering the chance to gain new experiences and find hidden talents and passions.

On a Wednesday, during period 6 and form time, students from Year 7 to Year 10 choose from three broad options: private study, academic enrichment, and sports and hobbies. Private study involves the opportunity for students to complete independent review and learning tasks, either further research or completing homework, supported by a member of staff. In terms of academic enrichment and sports and hobbies, students are provided termly with a range of activities to choose from, such as debating, Duke of Edinburgh, art and crafts, cooking, photography, football, netball, hockey, and rounders.

Year 11's enrichment programme, which occurs in Period 6 on a Friday, similarly involves private study, academic enrichment, and sports and hobbies. Private study involves the opportunity for students to complete independent review and learning tasks, either further research or completing homework, supported by a member of staff. English, science, or maths intervention is often available, with an experienced member of staff, for those who wish to deepen their skills and knowledge of these essential subjects. Students are also provided termly with a range of activities to choose from, such as creative writing, film club, photography, football, netball, and rounders.

See the documents below for examples of the electives on offer.
