How to appeal for September 2021 places:

If you have applied for a place at one of our schools and have been unsuccessful, we understand this can be frustrating. If you would like to appeal the decision, there is a process you can follow.

  1. Download the School Admissions Appeal form (below).
  2. Complete and return the form, with any additional supporting information, to your preferred school by:
  • 14th May 2021 (primary)
  • 22nd March 2021 (secondary).
  • 15th March 2021 (East Point Academy only)  

Appeals submitted by the deadline dates will be considered at a hearing.

What happens next?

Appeal hearings will be organised by Norfolk County Council (Suffolk County Council for East Point Academy). The hearing must take place within 40 school days of the deadline.

The Council will write to you and invite you to the hearing, they will give you at least two weeks notice. You will also receive a copy of a statement detailing why you have been refused a place at your preferred school.
