Teaching and learning
Students at Jane Austen College will benefit from exceptional learning experiences. Led by experts in teaching and learning, the college will ensure that your lessons are both engaging and challenging. Our innovative but evidence-based approaches will help you achieve your potential. In addition, one-to-one academic mentoring will support you in your studies.
Your lessons will be taught by highly skilled specialists. If you are opting for English, humanities and arts subjects then your lessons will be at Jane Austen College; however, you can complement these with science and maths courses which will be delivered at Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form. This gives you a unique, flexible opportunity, as you will be able to take advantage of the different specialisms of both institutions. With both sixth forms benefiting from a city centre location, it will be easy to move between the two buildings.
Our teachers will have high expectations of you - but they'll go the extra mile for you as well. If you are finding your work challenging, or are struggling to grasp a concept, masterclasses and one-to-one sessions will help you keep on track.
The highest academic standards, combined with excellent levels of support, will create a culture of scholarship and success.
