Welcome to our sixth form
The Thetford Academy Sixth Form is a fully inclusive sixth form, with the aim of delivering good-quality, relevant courses that meet the needs of all our students.
There are two broad pathways of entry:
- A Levels: Allow access to university or further education, assessment based mainly on examination throughout and the end of the course.
- Vocational courses (eg BTEC): Allow access to university or further education, assessment based mainly on coursework.
We believe that putting the right students with the right courses and combining this with a programme designed to suit the needs of each individual will allow every student to reach their potential. We are proud of the extensive experience, knowledge and commitment of our teaching staff at post-16 level.
The sixth form is housed in the new building complete with state-of-the-art study areas, common room and social area. Students also have access to the academy internet café.
Our sixth form is a full time institution which offers students their full entitlement of guided learning hours. Each subject provides 180 guided learning hours, and sixth form students enjoy regular academic mentoring, sport, supervised study, online learning and library sessions.
For more information on our sixth form, please read our prospectus.
Our open evening for students due to start Year 12 in September 2019 will take place on Wednesday, October 17 2018. Further details will be announced nearer to the date.
