We strongly believe that education is about more than exams: it’s also about giving pupils the chance to try new things, develop skills, and have some fun. Enrichment is our way of helping students have the experiences and develop the skills they need to move confidently into the next stage of their lives.

Students pick one enrichment course each term from a series of options, taken every Wednesday for an hour and a half during the school day.

Our courses are all linked with the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. This nationally-recognised programme sends a message to colleges, universities, and employers that a young person has a sense of adventure, enjoys a challenge, and will develop skills for life. By taking part in our enrichment programme, and with a school-led expedition every year, every student has the chance to achieve the Bronze award by Year 9, with the option of progressing on to Silver and Gold.

Enrichment courses change to reflect student interests. Recent examples include:

  • Art and design
