Welcome from the Principal

Norwich Primary Academy is one of the largest primaries in Norwich with about 350 children.

We have two classes per year from Reception to Year 6. We aim for the best possible results for our children and have developed a high ratio of teachers to pupils.

Our curriculum is engaging to the children, but with a high focus on English and maths. In Years 1 and 2 we teach maths using the very successful methods pioneered in Singapore. When children are learning to read, we teach phonics through the Read Write Inc. programme which gives children a strong base to understand text. The wider curriculum is topic-based - see our curriculum section for details. Every child from Year 1 learns a musical instrument (currently violin, cello, brass and woodwind).

We are different from most schools with an extended day for Years 3 to 6. We provide free enrichment activities for children from the end of the school day through to 4.45pm, Monday to Thursday. These include swimming, cookery, music tuition, fun science, dance, golf, and more.

We have a large site with a huge outside area - including woodland for investigating the outside environment, a playing field for games, and lots of play equipment for fun at break and lunch.

I look forward to welcoming you to our school.
