Pupils celebrate perfect attendance

Published on 07/11/18

More than 100 Charter pupils have attended a special reward evening to celebrate their perfect school attendance.

Pupils who chalked up 100% attendance from September to the October half term were presented with a lapel badge and invited to a celebratory party at the school's Salisbury Road site.

The event on Thursday, November 1, was attended by 117 pupils.

Vice principal Darren Hollingsworth said: "The party involved a celebration with staff with food and a disco, and everyone who attended had a great evening.

"Some of the main highlights were the pupil dance battle and watching the staff leading some well-known dances on the stage. This included the Macarena, the Cha Cha Slide, YMCA, Baby Shark, and most of all, the headmaster Mr Smith learning to floss!

"We will continue this celebration next half-term. Charter's pupil voice is currently suggesting a pupil and staff karaoke, so watch this space!"
