Student fundraisers from Great Yarmouth have handed over more than a thousand pounds to a children’s charity following a festive fun run along the town’s beach.
Over 400 Great Yarmouth Charter Academy students, aged between 11 and 15, braved the bracing sea air for the Santa Run in December in aid of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices.
Their run along the Great Yarmouth seafront raised £1,250 for the charity, which supports young people with serious health conditions across the region.
PE teacher Paul Andrews said: “This is the biggest amount we have ever raised, and testament to the generosity of our students and families.
“Well done to all our students for their fantastic effort.”
