Thetford children donate to Norfolk food banks

Families struggling at Christmas will find things a little easier thanks to the generosity of Thetford's students.
Students at the Academy have collected enough food to put together more than 40 hampers, which have been hand delivered for people in need in the Thetford area.
They have also donated additional food to the Norwich food bank.
The approach grew out of the academy's work in assemblies and tutor time, with students applying the ideas to completing acts of kindness in the run up to Christmas.
Students from across all year groups worked in the colleges to put together the hampers.
The work has been coordinated by assistant principal David Towler.
"The response from students and parents has been amazing and they have all done something wonderful for many families who are in need across Norfolk at this special time of year," said Mr Towler.
Malcolm, warehouse manager from the Norwich Food Bank said: "The kind donation from Thetford Academy community and all the other generous people in Norfolk will be distributed from our Great Yarmouth, Thetford and Norwich distribution centres and will keep families in need going up until Easter next year."
