Students and staff at Thetford Academy have helped the town mark 100 years since the end of the First World War.
Pupils created hundreds of ceramic poppies to be displayed in Thetford’s Market Place for the town’s Remembrance Day events on Sunday, November 11.
In the run-up to the 100th anniversary of the 1918 Armistice, students commemorated those who fought in the war in a series of special assemblies, while the history department organised a book of remembrance for the public to sign at Thetford’s Guildhall.
Thetford principal Dan Carter was joined by the school’s head boy and girl, Peter and Jess, as they laid a wreath during the remembrance service.
Mr Carter said: “I’m really proud to have been able to represent Thetford Academy at this very special community event.
“I’m especially proud of Jess and Peter, who were fantastic role models.”
