Thetford confirmed as Top 10 school

New official data has confirmed Thetford Academy as one of Norfolk's top 10 schools.
Number crunching by the Department for Education has seen new stats released covering this summer's GCSE results and the new tougher exams in key subjects.
They include the Government's preferred Progress 8 measure which aims to show the difference a school makes to pupil outcomes and not just their final grade.
Under that measure, Thetford Academy students beat the national average for progress chalking up a score of +0.3 - meaning pupils on average got a third of a grade higher because they attended the academy.
That puts Thetford Academy in Norfolk's top 10 schools. Two other places in the top 10 were taken by fellow academies in the Inspiration Trust.
Principal Kevin Blakey said: "This a great badge of achievement for Thetford, and shows the difference we can make when pupils, parents, and staff all work together.
"I'm very proud of the grades our students achieved both at GCSE and A Level and I know they will inspire us all to keep stretching ourselves to do our very best."
