Primary pupils have gone head to head to be crowned BEE Factor winner at a special competition at Thetford Academy.
Children from The Bishop's Church of England Primary Academy, Elveden C of E Primary Academy, and Redcastle Family School took part in the event on Friday October 6.
Challenges included a mental arithmetic round, spelling bee, and a Countdown-style maths challenge.
In the first round Bishop's Primary showed fantastic potential as their two teams led in the maths challenges, attempting to answer some GCSE-style questions.
In the second round Redcastle pushed the boundaries with their spelling, attempting to spell curriculum-based words such as 'photosynthesis' and 'circumference'.
But it was the final round where Elveden overtook the other schools to be crowned BEE Factor 2017 winners.
They were awarded their winning trophy by Thetford Academy prinicpal Kevin Blakey, who also presented medals and other prizes to the runner up teams.
Thetford Academy assistant principal Heather Denny said: “The aim of the event was to challenge the pupils' literacy and numeracy ability and to showcase the excellent work at our feeder schools in Thetford.
"We also want to build the confidence of primary school children in the transitional period when they move from primary to secondary school.
"The supporters from all schools were supportive and exceptionally behaved throughout the event and a credit to their schools."
