Published on 08/06/17

Students have been casting their votes in Thetford Academy's mock election.

Timed to coincide with the national vote on Thursday, June 8, students at the academy were issued with polling cards and had the chance to cast a vote for one of the main political parties over their lunch break.

The results, declared just after 2pm, were:

  • Labour: 332 (53%)
  • Conservative: 92 (15%)
  • Lib Dem: 49 (8%)
  • UKIP: 95 (15%)
  • Green Party: 55 (9%)

Voting in the real general election closes at 10pm tonight, with the first constituency result expected around 11pm and the bulk of results nationally declared by around 5am.
