Fair inspires career ideas

The future looks bright for Thetford Academy students as they were inspired by the school’s annual careers fair.

Supported by the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce, the fair was attended by 40 businesses, universities, colleges, and training providers.

Over 450 students came along to get information and advice on a wide range of careers - from engineering and the creative arts to health care and the armed forces.

Students also had the opportunity to brush up their interview skills, get advice from former students, and take part in activities including a Lego challenge and practising on a resus doll.

Assistant principal Heather Denny said: “Our students said afterwards that they had a much clearer idea about their options and how to plan for their chosen careers.

“They also commented that our supporters were really friendly and helpful.

“We are really lucky to have so many organisations willing to spend time helping our young people.”
