A pupil at Stradbroke Primary Academy is pleased as punch after becoming the first ever brown belt at the school’s karate club.

Harry Arger, 11, earned his brown belt in a grading at the Chinto Karate club, run by Sensei Tracy Pillar as part of the school’s enrichment programme.

Twenty-one children in total, from Years 3 to 6, gained new belts after passing their gradings on Tuesday, July 17.

Head of school Tanya Blake said: “Well done Harry and all the children who worked so hard to pass their gradings.

“It’s a great achievement and we’re very proud.”
