A young vocalist from Stradbroke Primary Academy has had a starring role in a glitzy concert that raised thousands of pounds for a children’s hospital.

Year 6 pupil Max Pring sang solo in front of a packed audience at Gorleston Pavilion Theatre’s ‘One Night Only’ variety show on Saturday, May 19.

He performed ‘Electricity’ from the soundtrack to the musical Billy Elliot, and the classical piece ‘Ave Maria’.

With a crowd-pleasing mix of professional variety acts also on the bill, the concert raised over £3,500 for Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.

Stradbroke’s head of school Tanya Blake said: “It’s a tremendous achievement for Max to be performing solo at this level.

“We can’t wait to see where his singing career takes him next.”
