A pupil from Stradbroke Academy has raised hundreds of pounds to fight cancer in a charity swimathon.
Year 6 pupil Oscar swam 1500m in 36 minutes on Saturday, April 28, raising £260 in sponsorship.
The swimathon was a family affair, with Oscar’s cousin and uncle swimming 5000m to raise a further £300.
The money raised will be split between Cancer Research UK, which funds research into cancer treatments, and Marie Curie, which supports people with terminal cancer and their families.
Stradbroke’s head of school Tanya Blake said: “We are very proud of Oscar’s tremendous effort in raising so much money for these worthwhile charities.”
