A talented footballer from Stradbroke Primary Academy has netted herself a place in Norwich City Football Club’s Elite Girls squad.

Year 5 pupil Sofia Stickley, who’s nine years old, caught the eye of talent scouts while playing for the under-10s team at Shrublands Junior FC in Great Yarmouth.

She will now join weekly training sessions under expert coaches at the Football Development Centre in Norwich.

Sofia will make her debut for Norwich in October, facing teams including Reading, Cambridge, and King’s Lynn in this season’s fixtures, as well as representing the club in tournaments around the country.

Stradbroke’s head of school Tanya Blake said: “We are very proud that Sofia’s hard work and dedication have been rewarded with this fantastic opportunity.

“We all wish Sofia and her team the best of luck in the forthcoming season.”
