A Hethersett Academy student has taken the world of female wrestling by storm with a major tournament win.
Fifteen-year-old Karama Smith became the youngest ever wrestler to win the Bellatrix British Championship in September, beating the record held by legendary Norwich wrestler Paige.
Kamara has been wrestling for five years with World Association of Wrestling, and regularly takes part in televised bouts and tournaments.
She fits twice-weekly training sessions and gym workouts around her studies, as she prepares to sit her GCSEs next summer.
Kamara, who hopes one day to become a WWE superstar in the United States, said: “I really enjoy wrestling – I’ve made new friends and learned new skills that are supporting me through my school life.
“My advice to anyone who wants to follow their dreams is: ‘Dreams aren’t impossible.’”
