Students from an Italian school have enjoyed a taste of English school life in a week of lessons and activities at Hethersett Academy.

The 11-strong group were buddied up with students from Year 8 and Year 10 for a week in September, accompanying them to all their lessons to experience what life at an English school is really like.

They took part in form time, assemblies, and enrichment activities as well as classroom lessons.

PE proved a particularly popular subject, with the Italian students putting in a bravura performance at handball.

Head of modern foreign languages Rebecca Irving said: “We were delighted to welcome the Italian students to Hethersett, and our pupils went out of their way to make their guests feel at home.

“Both groups of students got a huge amount out of getting to know about each other’s cultures.”
