A team of young mathematicians from Hethersett Academy has taken prime position at an inter-school maths competition.
Year 10 students Greg Frazer, Aidan Banfield, Sophie Moylan, and Grace Mitchell triumphed at the 2018 Maths Feast on Tuesday, February 20, pitting their wits against 17 teams from other Norfolk schools in a demanding contest of maths and teamwork.
Four mind-stretching rounds tested their skills in different mathematical areas including problem-solving and practical tasks, all at a high level of difficulty.
Organised by the Further Maths Support Programme, the annual competition gives students an enjoyable and challenging way to develop their mathematical, teamwork, and communication skills.
Hethersett Academy maths teacher Veronica Drobak said: “Our students worked really well as a team and demonstrated their strong understanding of maths - congratulations on a well-deserved victory.”
