Budding songwriters from Norwich Primary Academy received an award worth singing about as their work was recognised by a prestigious music college.
Sixty Year 4 and 5 pupils received an Arts Award from Trinity College London, a world-renowned centre for music and the performing arts, after taking part in a songwriting workshop run by the Norfolk and Norwich Festival.
The young tunesmiths composed their own songs and reflected on what they’d learned in a follow-up session back in the classroom.
A Year 5 teacher said: “The workshop was an amazing and enjoyable opportunity for the children.
“We are very proud of the songs they wrote, and thrilled that they earned an Arts Award for their hard work.”
