Karate sessions hit the right spot

Published on 27/03/18

Norwich Primary Academy transformed into a dojo for the day as pupils enjoyed a free karate taster session.

Sensei Dave Lynskey from the Eastern Shotokan Karate Association, which runs karate clubs across Norwich, led pupils through their martial arts moves on Friday, March 16.

The children practised their kihon (basics), kata (form), and kumite (sparring) in the traditional Japanese self-defence system, which emphasises respect and self-discipline.

Teacher Helen Carr said: "The whole school enjoyed these karate sessions and participated extremely enthusiastically."
