Rugby lessons promote healthy lifestyle

Children at Norwich Primary Academy have been learning about healthy eating and fitness with help from a professional rugby coach.
Justin Loveridge, rugby development officer at Leicester Tigers, visited the school on Friday, March 24 to give Year 3 pupils a fun, interactive lesson about the importance of a balanced diet.
The pupils then swapped the classroom for the playing field for a game of tag rugby, a non-contact version of the sport where players ‘tackle’ their opponents by pulling tags attached with Velcro.
The visit was organised as part of the Premiership Rugby league’s ‘Something To Chew On’ programme, promoting healthy lifestyles among young people.
Teacher Helen Carr said: “Justin was brilliant, and the children loved it – they learned a lot about how to eat well and keep active, while having loads of fun!”
