Students fight food poverty at Christmas

Published on 11/12/18

Kind-hearted students at Jane Austen College have helped make sure families in need won't go hungry this Christmas.

Six Year 7 students organised a collection of packets, jars, and tins for the Norwich Food Bank, which supports families in the city who are struggling to afford to eat.

Each form group was asked to provide 25 essential items and between them they filled an impressive 20 crates.

The Year 7 students delivered the crates to classrooms, checked in with form tutors weekly, and collected the donated items ready to be delivered to the food bank.
