Ballerina Eleanor to shine on the big stage

A young dancer from Jane Austen College is set to dazzle in a glitzy adaptation of a classic fairytale ballet.
Eleanor Blackburn, 14, will perform alongside professional dancers in the English Youth Ballet’s production of Cinderella In Hollywood at the Theatre Royal Norwich on May 25 and 26.
Set in 1950s Hollywood, the rags-to-riches story is inspired by the real-life tale of film star Grace Kelly’s romance with Prince Rainier of Monaco.
Eleanor will play a party guest and a chorus girl after winning a place at auditions earlier in the year, which picked the best of the region's young talent to perform with the prestigious company.
She started ballet lessons at the age of four and has performed with the English Youth Ballet twice previously, as well as numerous shows with her two dance schools.
Eleanor said: “It was my first time auditioning in the senior age group so I was apprehensive to begin with. The fact that I was successful made it feel even more of an achievement.
"I am really looking forward to the rehearsals and performances as the whole experience is wonderful.”
