Good reads do good deeds this Christmas

Students at Jane Austen College have a great reason to curl up with a good book as the nights draw in - to raise money to send books to sick children.
The college has launched its first ever readathon, with students challenged to set themselves a reading target between now and Christmas, and raise sponsorship money to meet their target.
All proceeds will go to Read for Good, a charity that provides books for children in hospital.
Librarian Robert Welton said: "This an excellent way to encourage your child to read more books, while raising money for a valuable cause."
To take part, students should collect a sponsorship card from the library. All donations will be collected in the penultimate week of term, by Wednesday, December 13.
