Fans of literature, movies, and music are set for an unforgettable evening at a festival of performing arts taking place at Jane Austen College.

Over 60 drama and music students from Year 7, 8, and 9 will showcase their talents at JACFest 2017 this Saturday, July 8.

The line-up includes stage adaptations of the much-loved children’s stories Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Treasure Island, and favourite scenes from classic films such as Jaws, Aladdin, and Monty Python’s Life of Brian.

Jane Austen’s young musicians are ready to rock with hits by icons including Queen, David Bowie, Oasis, and The Beatles.

Work by the school’s art students will be on display, and refreshments including pizza will be available to buy.

Drama teacher Chris Smith said: “Our students have been rehearsing extremely hard and can’t wait for the big night.

“This promises to be a fantastic evening of entertainment.”

The festival runs from 5.30pm to 9pm in the Atrium. Tickets cost £7 for adults, £4 for children, and are available from Ticket Source
